Positive Race Mindset Programs
Brings positive psychology to your runners enhancing their race experience
You know that mindset makes a huge difference to athletic performance and experience. As a race director, you do all that you can to encourage a positive mindset in your runners in the build up to your race. You share videos, images, and words that illustrate what a great experience your runners are likely to have when they come and run your race. You control as much as you can from a distance, and hope that the efforts you put in are perceived and create some magic.
Recent research has found that pessimism ranked as runners’ top mental roadblock. Negativity, whether it’s worry or doubt, often leads to self-defeating behaviors including slowing down, cutting a workout short, or dropping out of a race. Imagine if your runners could have access to a positive mindset program in the last few weeks before race day, that supercharges each of them with a positive attitude, that has them overflowing with new found confidence, and that are ready to have the most amazing race experience they have ever had at your race! Imagine no more – welcome to the Positive Race Mindset Program! Our program delivers 21 daily e-mails to your runners that provide all the positive mindset training and inspiration they need, all for an affordable cost of less than $1 per day of the program.
The Positive Race Mindset Program is the brainchild of Positive Running Coach, Terry Chiplin. Terry has been creating positive coaching programs for runners for more than 22 years, and is also the creator of Active at Altitude, activacuity® and the Positive Running Movement®. As a previous Race Director himself, and Event Director of the US Trail Running Conference, Terry is aware that a Race Director cannot be an expert in all fields. This exciting and unique program fills a gap that has been identified, and has not been met until now.
What does the program contain? Each activity is a blend between sports and positive psychology and neural techniques that have been shown to overcome fear of failure, doubt, lack of confidence, negativity and harsh self-judgement. Instead your runners will be empowered by a growth mindset where possibilities are created, dreams are realized, and magic can truly happen. A positive mindset, and the psychology that supports it, was brought into the spotlight in 2018 with the release of the book Let Your Mind Run, by Deena Kastor and Michelle Hamilton. In this excellent book, Deena shares the power of positive psychology: how gratitude, love, and affirming thoughts can give anyone a competitive edge. Deena left behind self-destructive negative thinking and rose to the pinnacle of her sport, becoming the first American woman to run under 2.20 in the marathon, and the first American to earn an Olympic medal in the marathon in twenty tears. Deena is just one example of how positive psychology and a positive mindset can lift anyone to unimaginable heights. This is what our programs deliver for your runners.
What runners are saying about our programs
“I was skeptical in the beginning, because I’m not much of a mindful runner. I’m more of a “just get out of the door and run” kind of gal. I’ve got to tell you–my running has improved since I started these videos. There is monster hill near my home, and I conquered it for the first time on Wednesday using some of the techniques recommended in the videos.” Karen, from Denver, CO.
“I am loving this program so far! Thanks for putting this together!” Kira, from Elizabeth, CO.
“I want to tell you that on a whim – having been a runner and then not as life happened when we adopted two teens in the past 2 years – I signed up for the 21 day program. The first few days I struggled to understand the roll out of topics. Now, I’m hooked! Such relevant and timely topics for where I am in my human journey as a new mom in my 50’s and missing my private time on a trail or down the road or up the monster hill just to refresh and feel wholly alive. Thank you and keep up the inspiring work. Last week was week 1 in the gym to begin to build my base again. I am amazing and why can’t I find the time to incorporate my runs in this new life. Cheers!” Anna, from Washington
“Good morning Terry. Great session #12 this morning – follow your dreams. Perfect start to today’s long run on a snowy winter morn here in northern IL.” Andy, from Illinois.
How can my race or races join this program? After an initial call to review your race portfolio and #s of runners, if agreed, we would create a custom activacuity® landing page for your race or races (that can also be co-branded), with a custom registration link. You share the link details with your runners, either on a custom e-mail blast, or as part of the race confirmation process. You benefit from providing a valuable add-on for all your runners, and can also generate added engagement in your social media channels as runners share their experiences.
